William P. Powell

Dear Friends and Colleagues:

After 35 years of practice, mostly devoted to family law, I have decided to retire and pursue other interests.

In making this decision, one of my great concerns was finding the right family lawyer to assume my existing cases and to whom I could send future clients. My years of practice have been almost exclusively in Southern California and my office has always been located in the South Bay. Since I have participated in bar activities, chaired a study group, and sat as a temporary judge in family court over the years, I have come in contact with a number of good, well qualified lawyers. None, however, were more qualified than David K. Yamamoto, who accepted my proposal to assume my existing cases and future clients.

I have known David for over 20 years. He specializes in family law and has practiced in the South Bay since 1986. In addition to being a fine litigator, David's practice also emphasizes Collaborative Law and mediation. He has an excellent staff which he has expanded to include some members of my firm.

Please accept my sincere appreciation for having had the opportunity of working with you whether it was as a colleague or client. My career has been blessed in many ways, but most of all by people such as you.
